Family Dining Room

The original Family Dining Room was shortened in 1923 when the theater was added to the building. An original stained glass window that was removed from the room is now visible when you enter the box office lobby. The dining room table and buffet belonged to the Sherman Family. It was removed after Hoyt passed away and his son, Arthur, took it with him to California. He returned it in 1946 so the Des Moines Women’s Club would have some of the original family furniture. The silver collection are pieces donated by members of the Des Moines Women’s Club.
