A five-piece Victorian parlor suite in the manner of John Jelliff (American, Newark, N.J., 1813 – 1893. Firm active 1836 – 1890). Carved maidenhead decoration on the knuckles. Burled walnut decoration on panels on the crest rails, aprons, and stiles. The suite consists of a sofa, a wide arm overall upholstered armchair, two side chairs, and one low corner conversation corner chair. American, circa 1865-1875. Sofa 40 x 65.5 x 22 deep. Armchair 37 x 31 x 20.5. Side chairs 37 x 20 x 19.5. Corner chair 26 x 21 x 24.5.
