Renaissance Revival Cabinet

A massive dark wood Renaissance Revival cabinet. Overhanging a stepped bonnet with decorative foliate corbels. Low relief palmette decoration on frieze. The two doors decorated with wigglework and three-dimensional architectural panels with urns and flowers and date “1679”. Iron-colored foliate pulls and fittings. Burled wood panel appliqués on the lower doors. On the plinth base are square rosettes alternating with metal pulls. Walnut and mixed woods. Continental, circa 1885. Pastiche. 87 x 75 x 12. With many imperfections. Interior outfitted with ratchets for modern shelving.
