Ornate William Paca Mirror. Gold and decorative paint.

Was once in the original home of William Paca (1740-1799) who was one of the original signers of the Declaration of Independence in Annapolis, Maryland. He was a delegate to the First Continental Congress and the 3rd governor of Maryland as well as a judge of the US District Court of Maryland. See Media tab for more information about William. The house was later called “Carvel Hall” and was located near the Naval Academy. The mirror was given by Mrs. P. McCarthey, a long time resident of Carvel hall to her sister Mrs. Victoria Warms of Des Moines, IA. Donated in 1995 from the Grace Nelson Estate.
