Harriet Macy, 38 yearlong art teacher at Des Moines East High School, painted this piece during her travels to the Taos, New Mexico in the Rock Mountains. She travelled quite a bit and painted in every stop. Macy was a member of the Des Moines Women’s Club and student at the Cumming School. It was donated by Des Moines community member and student of Macy, Carol Hammen.
