The painting was given to the Des Moines Women’s Club in 1947 by Charles Harsh in memory of his sister, Florence Harsh, a former club member.
Condition as per Randy Ash’s ’84 review: of the West School (predominant 1900’s-1920’s) the Taos or Sante Fe School: “An incredibly popular group of painting to collect these days. Would be absolutely spectacular if cleaned.”
