Eastlake Dining Table and Chairs
Original dining room table and chairs. 10 wooden chairs. burgandy fabric.
The return of the table was facilitated by Helen Sherman.
A suite of Eastlake style light mahogany colored wood dining chairs, including 10 side chairs and two arm. The crest rail with a wide register of flowers and leaves. The back rail with fluting and molding. The stiles are molded. Fluted, tapered front legs with modified rosettes in the front corners. Fluted straight stretchers. Splayed back legs. Now with maroon cotton velvet upholstered seats. American, circa 1885. Machine made. 35 x 18.5 x 20. Furniture Group.
The table was taken to California with Hoyt’s son, Arthur, but Helen Sherman negotiated it’s return to the Hoyt Sherman Place in 1946.
