Koninck was a Dutch painter during the early-mid 17th century.

Living in Amsterdam, Salomon became acquainted with many other local artists and, in some cases, directly copied their works.

He also painted some originals, often heavily inspired by Rembrandt and the academy of Hendrick van Uylenburgh.
