Henri Guinier, a French portrait and landscape painter, began his career as an engineering student. Driven by the wishes of his father, he completed six years of education at École des Arts et Métiers before graduating in 1889. However, rather than seeking a profession in engineering, he decided to take art classes in Paris. Through the instruction of several influential painters, Henri quickly rose to prominence and remained a highly successful artist for the rest of his life.
