Harriet Macy, 38 yearlong art teacher at Des Moines East High School, painted this piece prior to her passing. Macy was a member of the Des Moines Women’s Club and entered their yearly exhibition multiple times. She was selling this piece through the Iowa Art Guild for $40. It was donated by Des Moines community member and student of Macy, Carol Hammen.
